AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The heads of the Human Rights Committee of the Iranian and Iraqi parliaments stressed the need to seriously pursue the case of the assassination of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, the late commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC).
Zohreh Elahian, Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Iranian Parliament, yesterday (Monday) in a conversation with her Iraqi counterpart "Arshad Al-Salehi" appreciated the country's actions in expelling the terrorists of Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) group, said: "This group has committed many crimes and tragedies by assassinating 17,000 Iranians."
The member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament also welcomed the Iraqi side's proposal to form a parliamentary committee to pursue human rights issues, saying: "This committee can play a role in various fields, especially in the fight against terrorism."
Elahian emphasized the need to follow up on the assassination of General Soleimani and Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and said: "General Soleimani was a guest in Iraq and his assassination on Iraqi soil by the Americans took place in violation of all international laws and diplomatic rules."
The head of the Iraqi parliament's human rights committee also stated in the meeting: "The Iraqi parliament has passed important laws on combating terrorism and violence and has a firm will in this regard."
Arshad al-Salehi thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support for Muslims in various countries and suggested that a committee be set up at the level of the two countries' parliaments to follow up on human rights issues.
"Arshad al-Salehi" stressed that the Iraqi parliament is seriously pursuing the issue of assassinating General Soleimani until a result is achieved.
