Commemoration of 5th anniversary of Zaria massacre - 9

Amir-Abdollahian: Sheikh Zakzaki is unifier figure

The fifth anniversary of the oppressed martyrs of Zaria was held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the presence of the family of Sheikh "Ibrahim Zakzaky", the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, and in the presence of a group of thinkers from the Islamic world.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The fifth anniversary of the oppressed martyrs of Zaria was held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the presence of the family of Sheikh "Ibrahim Zakzaky", the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, and in the presence of a group of thinkers from the Islamic world.

Special Aide to the President of the Islamic Parliament of Iran in International Affairs delivered a speech on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the fifth anniversary of the oppressed martyrs of Zaria, in Qom.

Referring to the plan of the enemies of the Islamic world, "Hossein Amir-Abdollahian" said: "These enemies are trying to create crises in every corner of the Islamic world in order to secure their own interests and in conflict with the interests of the Islamic Ummah. Some international powers tried to keep Iraq and Syria at bay and created a terrorist group so-called ISIS in this regard."

"Although Israel is trying every day to continue settling and killing the Palestinian people, now the Zionists are trapped inside occupied Palestine and al-Quds will be liberated without a doubt," he added.

"In Nigeria, which has a large Muslim population, we saw Zaria massacre five years ago. Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky is a unifier figure working to promote Nigeria, but due to some misunderstandings, the Nigerian government became embroiled in the Islamic Movement of Nigeria," Abdollahian said.

He added that we expect the Nigerian government to end the detention of Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife and to allow the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria to contribute to the unity of the country.

It is worth mentioning that on December 13, 2015 when Shiites were mourning Imam Hussain (a.s.) in a Husseiniyah in the city of Zaria in Nigeria, the country's military forces with a previous plan to destroy Shiite Islam in Nigeria raided to the Husseiniyah of Zaria and home of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and killed more than a thousand Shiites and a number of members of the family of Sheikh Zakzaky and severely injured the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and his wife and they were taken to prison.
