AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): With the announcement of the final results of the provincial elections in Pakistan, the coalition of the "Tehreek-e-Insaf Party" and the "Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Party" won the elections in the "Gilgit-Baltistan" state.
According to the announcement, the coalition won 23 of the 33 seats in parliament. 20 seats belong to candidates of the Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (ruling party of Pakistan) and 3 seats belong to the candidates of the Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Party (owned by Shiites).
With this victory, in addition to the 3 Shiite representatives who are present in the state parliament as the quota of the Unity Assembly, a post of minister and a post of deputy prime minister (head of the state government) also reached this parliament.
Accordingly, Mr. Mohammad Meysam Kazem was appointed Minister of Agriculture and Mr. Elias Sedighi was appointed Deputy Prime Minister for Mineral Resources.
It is worth mentioning that the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen is one of the largest Shiite political parties in Pakistan. It was established to create an Islamic democratic welfare state, particularly emphasising Shi'a-Sunni unity.
This party is also a follower of Imam Khomeini's discourse and the axis of Islamic resistance.
