Pres. Rouhani: Iran's Gov’t, people didn’t let sanctions to achieve their goals

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The one hundred and eighty-second meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board was chaired by President Dr Hassan Rouhani, and following the discussions of the previous meeting, the head of the Plan and Budget Organisation presented a report on the process of preparing and finalising the year 1400 budget bill.

Emphasising the priority of drafting the budget bill based on economic realities and at the same time the continuation of the country's development programs, production growth and prosperity and improving the livelihood of the people and the poor, the President said, "The resistance of the Iranian nation in more than two and a half years in an unprecedented economic war with sworn enemies has paid off and the conditions for improvement in the economic conditions have been provided, and despite the severe damage done to the country's economy, the government, with the support and cooperation of the people, did not allow the sanctions to reach their goals”.

Dr Rouhani continued, "In this regard, considering the goals of next year's budget bill and the plans that have been made, we can hopefully announce that the country's economic situation will improve and prosper".

Following the report of the Economic Committee of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus on the economic situation and the problems that will result from the closure of some businesses in the new round of severe restrictions, the President stated, "Undoubtedly, in the way of implementing these restrictions, low-income people will face problems, so despite all the problems and hardships that all honourable people are aware of, the government has decided to allocate supportive measures for the vulnerable groups”.
