Quran learning courses for women started in Tatarstan

Muslim Religious Administration of Tatarstan resumed the work of the second stream of women's express courses “Learning to read the Koran”.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Muslim Religious Administration of Tatarstan resumed the work of the second stream of women's express courses “Learning to read the Koran”. They are designed for those who do not know the Arabic alphabet and cannot read the Koran. The second stream of women's express courses started in February 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic the classes were suspended.

The project “Learning to read the Koran” was launched by Tatarstan Muslim clergy in 2019 at the numerous requests of Muslims of republic. This initiative is a continuation of the large-scale project “One Day School”, during which students learn the basics of Islam and performing of Namaz (Prayer) in several lessons.

Women's express courses are to be held every Monday from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Galiyevskaya mosque in Kazan. The organizers plan to hold 6 lessons in the Arabic alphabet, mahraj (pronunciation) of complex letters and the rules of tajwid (special rules for reading the Koran).

It must be noted that organizers include all sanitary and epidemiological requirements: the students asked to wear medical masks and use antiseptics at the entrance of the mosque.
