Yemeni Foreign Ministry condemns French insults of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms statements made by French President Emmanuel Macron, which provoked Muslims around the world and the re-publication of the cartoons insulting to the Prophet Muhammad, under the pretext of freedom of expression.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms statements made by French President Emmanuel Macron, which provoked Muslims around the world and the re-publication of the cartoons insulting to the Prophet Muhammad, under the pretext of freedom of expression.

In a statement Saturday, the Ministry affirmed that the repeated insult to Islam and the Prophet Muhammad is a provocation and harms the feelings of more than a billion and a half Muslims, which will negatively affect France's relations with the Islamic world.

The statement considered this a dangerous step that would ignite the spirit of hatred, violence and enmity, and jeopardize all efforts to promote peaceful and civilized coexistence among the peoples of the world.

The statement pointed out that this offense certainly will not affect the status of the Islamic religion, which is the religion of peace, tolerance and love, nor the greatness of the Prophet Muhammad, who came as a mercy to all people, rather, it will undermine Franceand its position, showing it as a source of hatred, extremism and moral decay.

It called on Islamic states and peoples to stand firm against these repeated offenses to Islam and the Prophet and to boycott goods of anyone insults the Islamic religion and its sanctities.

The statement also called on the international community to condemn these statements and reckless and unbalanced behavior, as they stir up hatred and incites violence, and the speedy adoption of binding international law criminalizing insulting religious symbols and sanctities.
