AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's president described blocking the transmission of coronavirus as one of the most important factors in maintaining public health, and announced that the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus has passed regulations for imposing fines in five areas for violators who do not follow health protocols in Tehran province".
Speaking on Saturday at the 40th meeting of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, "If those infected with the virus appear in the society, they will be fined 200 thousand tomans".
The President also described it necessary to wear masks in the society and stated, "According to today's resolution of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, any person who appears in the society without wearing mask will be fined 50,000 tomans, which must be deposited to the account that will be announced within two weeks".
Stating that businesses are also obliged to follow health protocols, Dr Rouhani said, "Business owners are obliged to provide services only to people who have followed these instructions".
The President also stressed the importance of rapid identification of COVID-19 patients and said, "In this regard, the Minister of Health and Medical Education has been informed that the number of test kits should be increased and the government will provide 10,000 additional test kits".
Dr Rouhani said, "$100 million has been allocated to buy kits that identify COVID-19 patients in the shortest time and with easier methods, and at the same time we are making these types of kits in the country and we will soon see a great transformation in the field of testing".
The President further expressed concern about the decreasing amount of observance of health protocols among families and as a result the increase in family illnesses and said, "In the recent wave of people who go to hospitals, there are many cases in which fathers, mothers, children, grandparents and grandmothers are all infected together".
Emphasising that we are facing a more severe wave of coronavirus infection globally, Dr Rouhani added, "This new wave is due to the ease of transmission of the disease, which is due to caring less about observing health protocols".
Dr Rouhani added, "According to statistics, it is clear that most of the deaths were among the elderly, and the elderly and over 70 should be more careful".
The President also thanked the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and said, "The Supreme Leader instructed the Armed Forces to provide their facilities to the patients, and God willing, with the coordination that has been done, our dear people who are suffering from diseases can be treated in hospitals".
