Senior Pak Shia cleric 'Allama Sajid Naqvi' asks govt to do more on Kashmir issue

Senior pakistani Shiite cleric, Allama Sajid Naqvi, asks govt to do more on Kashmir issue, while declaring the measures government has taken so far inadequate.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Shia Ulma Council head and veteran Shia Islamic scholar Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi was commenting on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s speech to UN General Assembly.

Although he lauded his speech as comprehensive, he emphasized that the government need to do more regarding Kashmir issue.

Furthermore, he called for taking practical steps to get Kashmir issued settled.

He suggested head of state and government should get input from all stakeholders.

Allama Sajid Naqvi proposed that they should consult political parties, intelligentsia, business community, journalists, lawyers.

Besides, he asked them to also hold a comprehensive security related review.

Moreover, legally speaking, he said Indian government cannot change the status of internationally-recognized disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Hence, he rejected Indian government’s unilateral decision which PM Modi-led BJP government took on August 05, 2019.

The SUC head said India have to restore special status of Kashmir forthwith and have to give Kashmir their legitimate rights.

He lamented India was violating international law in Kashmir. However, Allama Sajid Naqvi reiterated pledge Pakistanis would not leave Kashmiris alone in this legitimate struggle.
