Archbishop of Armenian Christians:

“Ayatollah Taskhiri, role model of interfaith dialogue”

Archbishop of Armenian Christians in Tehran lauded the late advisor of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri as a man of dialogue and role model of Islam-Christianity interfaith dialogue.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Archbishop of Armenian Christians in Tehran lauded the late advisor of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri as a man of dialogue and role model of Islam-Christianity interfaith dialogue.

Sepuh Sarkissian, archbishop of the Armenian Christians in Tehran has issued a message to express sympathy over demise of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, former secretary general of major Islamic unity center in Iran, World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He hailed the late scholar as a pious and committed figure with no negative approach towards other monotheistic religions.

Archbishop Sarkissian said,” Those who knew Ayatollah Taskhiri confirm that the late scholar was a man of dialogue and a role model for interfaith dialogue between Islam and Christianity and all Islamic denominations.”

Top Christian leader in Iran highlighted the efforts of Ayatollah Taskhiri to represent Islamic Republic in the international arena and world of Christianity.

He referred to the close relations between the advisor of Supreme Leader and top Christian figures and reiterated the respect of Christian leaders for the senior Muslim cleric.

Archbishop Sepuh Sarkissian released the message to express condolence over passing of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, advisor of the Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs and member of the Assembly of Experts.

Ayatollah Taskhiri, aged 76, passed away due to heart disease in Tehran and his body was laid to rest in the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS).
