AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Milli Yakjehti Council of Pakistan lauds Ayatollah Taskhiri as flag bearer of Islamic unity, while offering condolences over sad demise of the great Iranian scholar.
The MYC or National Solidarity Council of Pakistan comprises of 30 political and religious groups.
Head of the MYC Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair along with senior members issued a statement on Wednesday.
They paid homage to the late Ayatollah, lauding him as a leader of the entire Muslim Ummah.
They expressed deep condolences over the demise of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri.
Milli Yakjehti Council called him the flag bearer of Islamic unity.
They noted Ayatollah Taskhiri a close associate of Imam Khomeini in the Islamic Revolution, a preacher of the unity of Ummah and a sympathetic figure of the entire Islamic Ummah.
“He played role of a reformer in many conflicts in the Islamic world,” said the religious body.
MYC also cited that Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri also visited Pakistan many times. He had close ties with the leaders of the MYC, scholars, and other personalities.
The MYC further recalled Ayatollah Taskhiri as a close friend of the late President of the Council Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
“His services will always be remembered,” said National Solidarity Council.
Leaders of Milli Yakjehti Council offered condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Besides, they also condoled with the government, the people of Iran and his esteemed family on this sad occasion.
Head of the supreme council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and adviser of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Islamic World affairs Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri passed away at the age of 76.
Ayatollah Taskhiri was born in October 19, 1944.
He was one of the well-known scientific and cultural figures in the Islamic World who had always tried to introduce Shia Islam. He remained engaged in maintaining understanding and empathy among Muslims.
