Hundreds demonstrate in Denmark against Israeli annexation plan

Hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters marched through the streets of the Danish capital, Copenhagen, to express rejection of the Israeli annexation plan and the apartheid practices of the Israeli government in occupied Palestine.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters marched through the streets of the Danish capital, Copenhagen, to express rejection of the Israeli annexation plan and the apartheid practices of the Israeli government in occupied Palestine.

The march set off at Israel Square in Copenhagen and stopped at the courtyard of the Danish Parliament, where public speakers condemned the Israeli plan to annex portions of the West Bank and called on the Danish government to stand on the side of the Palestinian people and pressure the Israeli government to abide by international resolutions.

The demonstrators waved the Palestine flags and shouted slogans in support of the Palestinian right to self-determination and demanded the recognition of an independent State of Palestine. They also waved banners condemning the Israeli occupation and demanding the Danish government to take a firm and clear stance on Israel's annexation plan, as well as to consider boycott of apartheid Israel.

Hanan Ward spoke on behalf of the Palestinian community in Denmark, where she highlighted the Israeli violations in occupied Palestine, especially with regard to the suffering of the Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli detention. She called on the Danish government to take a clear stance towards the Israeli annexation plan.

In the city of Aarhus, the Federation of Palestinian Associations organized in cooperation with the Working Group for Palestine a public protest outside the main railway station, during which the protesters waved the flags of Palestine other signs condemning the Israeli annexation plan and promoting boycott of the Israeli occupation.

Meanwhile, dozens of protesters marched outside the Israeli embassy in Toronto, Canada, to express their disapproval of the Israeli annexation plan and to call for a free Palestine.

The protesters called on the Canadian government to recognize the State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital and to impose sanctions on Israel for its apartheid practices against the Palestinian people.
