AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iran's President described serving the families of martyrs and war veterans as a great chance that God bestows on a human being and said, "It is an honour for us to serve those who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity of the country and Iran's position during these years, and we should be grateful for having this opportunity".
Speaking at a cabinet session on Sunday, President Hassan Rouhani appreciated the services and work of Hojatoleslam val-Moslemin Mohammad-Ali Shahidi during his seven-year tenure as the Head of the Foundation for Martyrs and Veterans Affairs and serving the families of martyrs, saying, "Serving in a position like the Foundation for Martyrs and Veterans Affairs and serving the respectful family of martyrs is very valuable work and it is an honour for a human being to be able to serve these noble families for some time".
The President said that during the last seven years, we have never spared any effort in trying and serving the great families of martyrs and veterans as much as we can, adding, "Of course, whatever we do for these dear ones is nothing compared to their devotion and what they did for the country and the system".
Dr Rouhani also mentioned the implementation and operation of the "Comprehensive Law for Veterans" in the 11th and 12th governments, which had long been approved but had been difficult to implement.
The President said that the Martyr and Veterans Affairs Foundation will continue to benefit from the services of Hojatoleslam Shahidi as the representative of the Supreme Leader, adding, "A person who has taken responsibility for this foundation is himself a member of the family of martyrs and has served time as prisoner of war, and is well acquainted with the important and valuable position of this foundation and the great families of martyrs and veterans".
In the end, Dr Rouhani wished success for all the officials of the system in serving the people.
