We’ll celebrate Quds Day; Al-Quds will not be forgotten, remain under occupation of oppressors

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Congratulating the International Quds Day, the President stressed that the people of Islamic Iran do not accept or tolerate oppression against the Palestinians in any way, and that the final victory will be for the Palestinian people sooner or later with the resistance and steely willpower that they have.

Speaking in a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Dr Hassan Rouhani said that standing up to the oppressors and supporting the oppressed is one of the main pillars of the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding, "The people of Iran commemorate Quds Day, and this day is the reiteration of the fact that that Al-Quds will never be forgotten and will not remain occupied by the oppressors”.

Referring to the final days of the holy month of Ramadan, President Hassan Rouhani appreciated the responsibility of the Iranian nation for observing health protocols during Lylat al-Qadr ceremony.

He went on to mention the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, which is named the International Quds Day, as one of the most important Islamic, revolutionary and historical events, saying, "Quds Day is very important, and it is of special place this year because of the outbreak of coronavirus”.

We will never forget our main goal, which is standing up to the oppressors and supporting the oppressed, saying, "Resisting the oppressors and supporting the oppressed is one of the main pillars of the Islamic Republic of Iran”.

“The people of Islamic Iran do not accept or tolerate oppression against the Palestinians in any way,” he continued, adding that the Palestinian land will be freed one day.

The President said that the people of Palestine have been under the oppression of imperialist powers led by the United States for over 70 years now, and this is the philosophy behind holding the International Quds Day.

“We believe that in the end, the right will prevail over the wrong. Al-Quds will not remain occupied by the usurpers, and although a new conspiracy is being hatched against the oppressed Palestinians every day, they will sooner or later win with the steely will of the Palestinian people”.

In another part of his speech, the President referred to the successes and achievements in the fight against coronavirus and added, "During the outbreak of coronavirus, we have progressed step by step and we have not retreated anywhere, and today we are one step away from harnessing coronavirus".

Dr Rouhani said that our path in the fight against COVID-19 disease was not an authoritative quarantine, adding, "We asked the people to support us by choosing a policy and method of voluntary participation, which fortunately was responded positively by the people".

Emphasising that we still have a long way to go before the end of this epidemic, the President added, "We must not ignore the importance of the issue, but we should continue to observe health protocols and maintain solidarity, cooperation and empathy, so that we can reach the end of the road with the least damage and casualties”.

“The government will continue to support the dear people, who have had many economic and livelihood problems during this period, and will do everything in its power wherever they need help,” said Rouhani.

Referring to the government's recent decisions to help land and air transport companies, urban and intercity drivers continue to help unions and businesses affected by coronavirus, the president stressed, "All economic decisions related to helping people and businesses must be implemented and operational by June 20”.

Stating that people must not worry about the supply of basic goods, we have enough currency and the necessary purchases have been made, Dr Rouhani said, "People should not pay attention to rumours in the social media”.

Despite the difficult economic conditions and the outbreak of coronavirus, the president said, the country's oil exports are favourable, adding, "The reopening of borders and trade with countries is underway, which will lead to an increase in the country's non-oil exports”.

Dr Rouhani said that we will not have a problem with this year's budget, adding, "No-risk treasury bonds will be issued soon”.

Referring to US anti-human sanctions and increasing economic pressure on the Iranian people, Dr Rouhani added, "Those who conspired against the Iranian people and put them under pressure are the most affected government in the world today, and the White House is in the worst conditions today".

“The course of the fight against coronavirus proved how incompetent Americans are,” continued the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Expressing satisfaction with the domestic agreements in Iraq and Afghanistan for the economic stability and vitality of these countries, "We are pleased that we are witnessing the formation of a new government in Iraq with the agreement of various groups in this country, and the disagreements in Afghanistan have also led to a good agreement”.

Dr Rouhani emphasised, "As in the past, we are with the two friendly and neighbouring countries, Iraq and Afghanistan, and we welcome the establishment of peace and stability in our neighbouring countries".

At the end of this speech, the President said, "I wish that the relationship between the government and the next parliament, which will begin on May 27, be closer, and this is in the interest of the people”.
