AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's President appreciated the hard work of all people who are involved in managing the country during the outbreak of coronavirus under sanctions, which indicates the extensive work of the country's producers.
Speaking on Wednesday at the session of the Council of Ministers, President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the birthday of Imam Mahdi (AS), saying, "Good steps have been taken in producing medical equipment and disinfectants and the needs of the people, doctors and nurses".

I would like to congratulate the birthday of Imam Mahdi (AS) to the entire Iranian nation, all Muslims around the world and all those who are waiting for reappearance despite their different beliefs or religions.
What is important for us, is hope for the future, and higher hope means more readiness. Waiting for Imam Mahdi's (AS) reappearance is both hope for the future and readiness for peace and justice all around the world.
The future of the world is a glorious one and this justice will prevail over the world, therefore, we have a very important celebration before us. Tomorrow is our great celebration, which is the birthday of Imam Mahdi (AS).
In addition, today is the day of nuclear energy, the day we all celebrate every year and have myriad unveilings every year. This year, we had plans for it. Most of our nuclear advancements we achieved in this period, especially since last year when we stepped up our activities step by step, our researchers have reached great achievements.
These great achievements in the past one year have been in medical, health and agricultural fields, and today, nuclear science and knowledge can help us in the field of health and producing masks. It can also have effective results in agricultural and non-agricultural fields.
I would like to mention here that despite the problems and hardships coronavirus created for us, very good steps have been taken in the field of science and knowledge-based companies in the field of health and medical equipment.
Today, we are almost self-sufficient in producing test kits. Our domestic production is enough and these products can increase day by day.
A couple of days ago, there was an exhibition held here in which the achievements of a knowledge-based company regarding CT scan was displayed.
Even today in this very session, the Vice-President for Science and Technology said that new kits have been produced, which can show in a short time if somebody who had already been infected has become immune to it.
We are advancing each day in science and knowledge and production. In addition, our producers are working hard every day to meet the country's needs for masks, disinfectants and medical equipment.
When the disease started spreading in our country, our medical staff and nurses were very worried in the first days, because we were not ready enough.
Today, that initial concern is not here and when our nurses go to work, they are provided with their essentials like gowns and masks and other equipment.
The other point I want to mention is the hard work in the country for production. Thank God, we have no shortage in people's essentials when we are under sanctions.
I hope that we can become self-sufficient in producing masks and other related equipment in the near future.
Fortunately, our producers, farmers, labourers and engineers have brought about a calm atmosphere in our country, which we appreciate.
Our oil minister said a promising thing that all their activities in the field of oil are being carried out under necessary precautions and they are observing health protocols, and that nobody has been infected in their production units so far.
All these efforts are based on the fact that our country's production can meet the needs of our society for today and the coming months.
Our industry, agriculture, service, power, oil and gas sectors are all active and working very hard. We all know that the health sector is carrying a heavy burden.
In this week's economic board we made important decisions, which was the guidelines for allocating the 100 trillion tomans of loans.
We are a country that have done our best and taken very good steps. For businesses that have been affected, we have considered an amount from the unemployment fund.
Here, we call on all international bodies to live up to their legal responsibilities. Iran is a member of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank. It is paying its share and a part of Iran's reserves is at their hands. We had a request for loan and if they are to discriminate between Iran and other countries, it will not be tolerable for us and world's public opinions.
We have not asked for anything from the fund for the past 50 years or so. Now after this long time of membership, if they do not fulfil their responsibility in this hard time, the world will judge them differently.
Unfortunately, the Americans have always acted unilaterally. They have continued to act unilaterally for the entire period. Now, they continue the same incorrect process, which is a historic issue. It will remain in history that the White House, which has been a terrorist in economic issues, will be a terrorist in medical issues as well. This will be a historic scandal for the US administration that it is continuing its pressures on the great Iranian nation.
Of course, out people have been very resistant throughout the history, and they will continue to be the same. The Americans have violated WHO's 2005 act, which stipulates that everyone must help each other and everyone must be free to act towards contagious diseases.
Despite the terrorist acts of the United States, we hope to continue our very good relations with other countries and friendly countries, and we will supply our needs both domestically and from abroad.
I would like to thank all the other forces, the Armed Forces, all people, all institutions, as well as the Supreme Leader, for his help and assistance wherever we needed help. God willing, we will continue this path with the help of each other.
We hope that the help of Imam Mahdi (AS), to whom these days belong, will be with us and that we will benefit from his blessings and prayers.
