The importance of satellites for telecommunications, navigation, land surveying, scientific research, and functions in military applications is increasing.
The first satellite of the world was Russian Spotnik-1, launched on October 4, 1957. The launch of the Spotnik-1 into Earth orbit initiated the space age and space race. Since then, about 6600 satellites have been launched from more than 40 countries. In the West Asia region, Iran is leading the technology, too. The Islamic Republic of Iran is the ninth country in the world that has been able to launch the satellite independently. With its comprehensive spatial plan, Iran has been able to make indigenous all stages of the satellite, from build to launch.
Iran has the technical knowledge of the establishment and commissioning of the base and the space station, the construction and operation of the satellite and the construction of the satellite.
Iran has so far been able to launch six satellites to use for imaging at a resolution of 50 meters, remote sensing satellite and telecommunications satellites. In the space program of Iran, launching human outside the atmosphere are foreseen for the next three years.
