Imam Khamenei: US angry with Iran’s resistance

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Iran's resistance has made the US angry.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Hajj organizers and administrators on Monday, stressed that Iran's resistance frustrates the US, making the American administration angry.

Speaking to Hajj officials on Monday, Ayatollah Khamenei urged the organizers of Hajj to use this excellent opportunity to get across to the world that the Islamic Republic of Iran has something new to say -Iran's model of religious democracy is genuinely new and other countries can take a leaf out of our book.

"Iran's resistance against the bully, United States, and Iran's refusal to be coerced or intimidated by Washington, genuinely appeals to the world at large, and we must use this appeal to spread the truth of Islam and to spread the Iranian nation's message," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader praised the coordination of different government departments and organizations which has facilitated the Hajj pilgrimage. The Leader stressed on the political, religious and social dimensions of the Hajj pilgrimage, pointedly adding: "Many countries have failed to grasp the importance of the Hajj, and its many benefits, but the founder of the Islamic Republic, our dear Imam Khomeini (may God bless his soul) taught us that the Hajj is an international movement which brings many benefits to the Islamic 'Ummah'."

Turning to the efforts of world powers to stop the shaping of a single united Islamic Ummah, the Leader said: "The Islamic Ummah, in the true sense of the word, has not taken shape as yet, and we still don't have a solid Islamic Ummah which acts as one and pursues a single objective, or several well-defined objectives. Unfortunately, we still see conflict and wars in Islamic countries."

Elaborating further the Leader said US officials often say Iran must act like a normal country, but what they really mean is that Iran has something new to say and they don't want the peoples of the world to hear our message. They don't want the world to get to know religious democracy, which is the best way to govern.

In further remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "Iran's model of religious democracy is genuinely new, and the world doesn't know much about it, and we must use the opportunity which the Hajj provides to explain to peoples of the world what religious democracy really means and how it works, why is the US government so hostile towards Iran, and Iran's logic of resisting US intimidation, arm-twisting, and pressure."

The Leader pointedly added: "The Fundamentals of Islam and Islamic thinking must be explained to people and we must explain why the US government is so hostile towards Iran. The world is attracted to an independent country which refuses to bow to a bully."
