AhlulBayt News Agency - Since the beginning of the Fallujah operation, 4 Yazidi girls have been freed in the city, said the mayor of Sinjar district.
Mahma Khalil, the mayor of Sinjar, said that 4 Yazidi girls have been liberated from the ISIS captivity in Fallujah during the offensive of recapturing the city, and two of them arrived in Kurdistan Region while the other two are expected to arrive soon.
The Sinjar mayor called on the Iraqi forces to protect the Yazidi abductees in Fallujah during the operation.
The Directorate of Yazidi Abductees Affairs in Dohuk province, which works to locate and free Yazidi captives, previously said that nearly 200 Yazidi girls, who were abducted by IS militants during the Sinjar massacre, are now being held in Fallujah.
"We are constantly keeping track of those abductees to secure their liberation and protect their lives" said Hussein Kuru, the head of the directorate.
Asked about the current condition of the Yazidi women in IS captivity in Fallujah, Steve Warren, the US military spokesperson for the US-led global coalition against IS, said that they have no information about such reports.
