A number of Christian families are still remaining inside Mosul and they annually pay the ISIS an amount of money, according to sources inside Mosul.

Rayyan Hadidi, a civil activist said that there is still a number of Christian families in the city of Mosul, revealing that every family has to pay $170 annually to IS.

"It is weird because IS aids each family with $200 every month", Hadidi said.

Hadidi also revealed that those Christian families are mainly living in Sa'at, Hai Nur, Hai Andalus neighbourhoods, but it is still unknown why they have not fled in the beginning and stayed behind.

He believes that the families stayed in the city due to their low financial situation as they might have not been able to afford escaping.
