Syria: Coalition jets pound ISIS in huge air raid over Raqqa city

On Monday, coalition jets hauled over Raqqa and struck the Fardous District, al-Andalous neighborhood, the Raqqa Grain mill, and the Al-Naeem roundabout along with an ISIS headquarter near the city’s train station.

AhlulBayt News Agency - On Monday, coalition jets hauled over Raqqa and struck the Fardous District, al-Andalous neighborhood, the Raqqa Grain mill, and the Al-Naeem roundabout along with an ISIS headquarter near the city’s train station.

All these sites are located in the northern part of ISIS controlled Raqqa, the insurgent group’s self-proclaimed capital.

In total, 28 US airstrikes have struck the city during the evening.

Furthermore, US air raids are reportedly ongoing as we speak.

Before coalition jets initiated the operation, US surveillance drones were seen flying above the city’s sky as they were likely keeping an eye on ISIS movements prior to the attack.

Currently, the exact death toll is unknown at this point in time; however, tens of ISIS fighters and civilians were said to have been killed during the airstrikes.

Earlier this week, it was otherwise revealed that ISIS had begun to cover Raqqa’s urban areas with sheets as to avoid Russian and US jets from spotting their fighters on the city’s streets.

Lastnight’s US air raid on ISIS’ capital in Syria seems to indicate an upcoming offensive by the YPG and SDF; these two Kurdish militias are considered close allies of the US administration and are situated approximately 30 kilometers north of Raqqa city.
