Senior Hamas official: We are arranging relations with neighboring countries

Ismail Haneyya, deputy head of Hamas political bureau, said that his Movement is proceeding in arranging relations with Arab countries especially neighboring states.

AhlulBayt News Agency - Ismail Haneyya, deputy head of Hamas political bureau, said that his Movement is proceeding in arranging relations with Arab countries especially neighboring states.

Haneyya’s statement came during the international parliamentary forum which took place on Sunday in Gaza and was organized by the Change and Reform bloc in the Palestinian Legislative Council.

The Hamas senior leader Haneyya pointed out that Israeli attempts to take advantage of the crises in the region in order to dissolve the Palestinian cause have failed.

He, meanwhile, said, "Hamas is pursuing two parallel paths: regaining national unity and ending the division on the one hand and on the other achieving reconciliation based on partnership".

A Hamas delegation, headed by political bureau member Mousa Abu Marzouk with the participation of other members of the bureau including Mahmoud al-Zahhar, Emad al-Alami, Khalil al-Hayya and Nizar Awad, has recently concluded a visit to Egypt for the sake of discussing a group of issues with priority given to improving strained relations.

Haneyya asked the participating parliaments to support the Jerusalem Intifada, and pointed to the fact that the ten years of Israeli siege on Gaza had failed to break the resoluteness and steadfastness of Palestinians.
