A Yazidi Member of the Kurdistan Region Parliament has stated that nearly 1,000 Yazidi children have been forced into military trainings by the ISIS.

MP Sheikh Shamo said that thousands of Yazidis are still in IS captivity, among which almost 1,000 children are being used by the terrorist group as ‘child soldiers’.

Shamo pointed out that the Yazidi children are being radicalised before going through intense military training courses.

According to the Yazidi official, the children have recently been moved to Raqqa province in Syria, and they have been admitted in different units. “Part of them are being used as suicide bombers and the rest are being forced to fight on the battlefields,” he continued.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is closely working with the Kurdish security and Peshmerga forces to rescue those taken captive by IS, the MP added.
