AhlulBayt News Agency - Representative of Hamas in Lebanon Ali Baraka on Monday met with Argentinian ambassador Ricardo Larriera at the headquarters of the embassy in Beirut.
The meeting was attended by Ziyad Hasan, director of Hamas's political relations in the country.
Baraka briefed the Argentinian ambassador to Lebanon on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, especially Israel's persistent crimes against the Palestinian people.
The Hamas official also discussed with the ambassador the repercussions of the UNRWA's recent service cuts on the lives of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, and the issue of the stricken refugee camp of Nahr al-Bared.
Baraka affirmed that the popular protests against the UNRWA's "unjust" resolutions would continue until they were reversed.
He urged the Argentinian government to work with the UN to stop Israel's aggressive practices against the Palestinians, their land and holy sites, and end its inhumane blockade on Gaza.
He also called for supporting the UNRWA in order to ensure continuity of its relief efforts, and expressed thanks to the Argentinian leadership and people for their support for the Palestinian people and their national cause.
For his part, ambassador Larriera welcomed the Hamas delegation and promised to convey its demands to the Argentinian government.
He confirmed his country's ongoing support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
