Shia cleric counts founders of Islamic Awakening

Iranian top cleric called late founder of Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), Martyr Beheshti, Martyr Mottahari and Ayatollah Sadr as the forerunners of Islamic Awakening hailing the figures for meeting part of the intellectual necessities of the world.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, attending the conference “Martyr Mottahari and Revival of Islamic Thought”, hailed Martyr Mottahari as a pioneer of modern Islamic Insight.

He praised the books written by Martyr Mottahari (1920-1979) Iranian scholar, lecturer, thinker and politician, Martyr Beheshti (1928-1981) Iranian scholar, writer, jurist, Martyr Sadr and late founder of Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA) for providing part of the intellectual needs of the modern world and said, “These Muslim elites enriched Islamic thinking,” calling that as the greatest way to serve Islam.

Shia cleric said the great impacts of the Islamic Revolution are due to the Islamic ideologies in the books written by late Martyr Mottahari.

“Martyr Mottahari warned against a misrepresentation of Islam,” Ayatollah Taskhiri said adding, “The greatest rationalism of Shia was at its peak during Martyr Mottahari since he truly emphasized logics.”

He also said, “Aims of Sharia including protection of life, properties, society and also Human Rights were seriously highlighted by Martyr Mottahri.”

Conference on “Martyr Mottahari and Revival of Islamic Thought” was held by the Organization of Culture and Islamic Relations and the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought for May firat, the martyrdom anniversary of Martyr Morteza Mottahari, dubbed Teacher’s Day.
