Second martyrdom anniversary of Gen. Soleimani held in Lebanon's Qamatiyeh

The second martyrdom anniversary of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis was held in the Hosseiniyah of the village of Qamatiyeh near Beirut, the Lebanese capital.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The second martyrdom anniversary of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis was held in the Hosseiniyah of the village of Qamatiyeh near Beirut, the Lebanese capital.

Mahdi Gharavi, the prayer leader of Qamatiyeh village, and Hassan Tabrizi, representative of the Ahlul Bayt World Assembly (ABWA), spoke on Saturday night at the second martyrdom anniversary of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.

Stating that according to the available information, the martyrdom of Martyr Soleimani was the largest funeral after the departure of Imam Khomeini, Mahdi Gharavi said that Martyr Soleimani was the cause of the unity of different nations.

The Imam of the village of Qamatiyeh, referring to the character and position of Martyr Lt. Gen. Soleimani, clarified that this martyr of the Resistance Front does not belong to one nation.

An exhibition of photos and books of the braveries of Martyr Soleimani and other martyrs of the Resistance Front was held on the sidelines of the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in the Hosseiniyah of Qamatiyeh village.

The teenagers of Qamatiyeh village near Beirut were present in this ceremony and showed their love for the martyr Lt. Gen. Soleimani.

General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) deputy head Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by former President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

They were highly popular because of their key role in eliminating the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.

General Soleimani was assassinated by the US while he was in Baghdad at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.
