Palestinian hunger striker Khalil Awawdeh in critical condition

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) affirmed, in a statement issued Saturday, that the health condition of the prisoner Khalil Awawdeh, 40, has seriously deteriorated.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) affirmed, in a statement issued Saturday, that the health condition of the prisoner Khalil Awawdeh, 40, has seriously deteriorated.

Awawdeh's health situation has further deteriorated as Israeli authorities continue to refuse to end his illegal administrative detention.

The Israeli administration of Ramla jail recently transferred Awawdeh, who is from Idhna town in al-Khalil, to a civilian hospital after a sharp decline in his health condition before taking him back later to the jail.

As a result of his protracted hunger strike, Awawdeh suffers from a persistent headache, joint pains, emaciation, extreme fatigue, irregular heartbeats and difficulty breathing, and frequent vomiting of blood.

Meanwhile, the prisoner Ra’ed al-Rayan, 28, have entered day 38 of his hunger strike in protest against his administrative detention in Israeli jails.

Rayan suffers from a constant headache and joint pains, and uses a wheelchair to move.

He staged his hunger strike to protest an Israeli decision extending his administrative detention for an additional four months.

Rayan, who is being held in Ofer jail, was kidnapped from his home in Beit Duqqu village, northwest of Occupied al-Quds, on December 3, 2021, and soon later an Israeli military court ordered his detention administratively for six months.
