More than 40,000 Muslim worshipers performed Friday prayer in the Al-Aqsa Mosque despite the strict Israeli measures.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): More than 40,000 Muslim worshipers performed Friday prayer in the Al-Aqsa Mosque despite the strict Israeli measures.

Since the early morning hours, Palestinian citizens gathered at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, passing through the gates of al-Aqsa.

During the Friday sermon, the preacher, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, pointed to the Israeli deliberate targeting of Palestinian media outlets covering al-Aqsa and al-Quds news.

He also underlined the social media platforms' censorship of Palestinian content.

On the other hand, Sheikh Sabri stressed the urgent need to stand firmly in support of the prisoners' issue, saying that Palestinian prisoners are suffering very difficult detention conditions in Israeli jails.

Sheikh Sabri also warned of the Israeli escalated attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque, most recently the Knesset's recommendation to the education ministry to include teachings about the Jewish history that include field trips to the holy Islamic site in Occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem) Old City in school curricula.

He further called for intensifying Palestinian presence in al-Aqsa.
