AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Al-Shammari described the American influence among those close to the martyrs Soleimani and al-Muhandis in connection with the assassination attempt as “an exaggerated lie” and called for the prosecution of traitors in the Iraqi intelligence service who collaborated with Washington in the crime committed at Baghdad International Airport.
According to the website of the representative office of al-Nujaba in Iran, Nasr al-Shammari, the spokesman of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement, reacted to the recent remarks of the former United States Secretary of State in an interview with Aletejah TV and said, “First of all, it should be emphasized that Brigadier-General Qasem Soleimani had entered Iraq openly and on an official visit.
Therefore, the claim of any American influence on people close to the martyred commanders of the Resistance regarding the assassination operations and hacking of their mobile phones is exaggerated and false. The Iraqi government, Baghdad International Airport and the prime minister’s office were aware of Haj Qasem’s visit and information was leaked from these channels.”
Al-Shammari expressed regret over the violation of norms of Iraqi governance in the case of the assassination of the martyrs Soleimani and al-Muhandis, noting, “Of course, this is not a new thing; It seems that today we see a foreign government (Turkey) occupying part of Iraq and bombing our lands but the government does not react.”
Referring to the details of the interview with Mike Pompeo, he said, “These were some of the detailed reports that some American media outlets had previously published. The report states that a unit of American troops was transferred from the embassy to Baghdad International Airport, where they carried out operations in cooperation with elements of the Iraqi intelligence service and Kurdish security agents. Even when the escort car of the martyrs Haj Abu Mahdi and Haj Qasem continued on its way after being hit by the first missile, it was targeted by a sniper and exploded with the second missile after stopping.”
The spokesman for al-Nujaba reported the theft of some of the martyrs’ documents and belongings by assassins and their mercenaries, adding, “The violation of sovereignty has reached the point where inside the airport – which is a symbol of national sovereignty – a foreign government, in addition to assassinating an Iraqi official, also martyrs the official guest of our government.”
Al-Shammari stated at the end of the interview with Aletejah TV, “The Baghdad International Airport crime was committed in public with the cooperation of an Iraqi security apparatus; Of course, I do not want to question all the intelligence agencies here, but there is no doubt that elements of the mentioned institution were involved in this great crime and betrayal and they should be tried according to Iraqi law.”
