Iraqi forces claimed they have captured the ISIS leader Abubakr al-Baghdadi's cousin who is also a high-ranking member of the group.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Iraqi forces claimed they have captured the ISIS leader Abubakr al-Baghdadi's cousin who is also a high-ranking member of the group.

He was captured on Friday in Josaq district in west Mosul where the Iraqi troops are closing in on ISIS after having liberated the eastern half of the city.

The Iraqi Joint Operations Command recently stated that the intelligence service units are monitoring Baghdadi's movements in Mosul where he is trapped without any means of escape.

Over the past two days, another top commander of the group was captured and seven others killed by coalition airstrikes on Friday.

According to Iraqi and US military officials, most of the ISIS leaders close to Baghdadi have been eliminated which proves to be a major blow to the leadership of the terrorist group.
