Kuwaiti player 'Kholoud Al-Mutairi' refuses to play against Israeli player

A Kuwaiti player on Sunday refused to play against an Israeli player and withdrew from the Wheelchair World Fencing Championship in Thailand.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A Kuwaiti player on Sunday refused to play against an Israeli player and withdrew from the Wheelchair World Fencing Championship in Thailand.

“The Kuwaiti player Kholoud Al-Mutairi withdrew from the Wheelchair World Fencing Championship, refusing to face the Israeli player,” the Kuwait Paralympic Committee tweeted.

Earlier in May, one of Kuwait’s chess champions Bader Al-Hajri withdrew from the competitions of the Sunway Chess Championship held in Spain, refusing to play against an Israeli player.

Several Kuwaiti athletes have refused to play against Israeli players in a bid to show the true image of the Israeli occupation and draw attention to the Palestinian people’s suffering, which is an effective means to resist normalization.
