Israeli prison service transferred hunger-striking detainee Zaghir to Beer Sheba isolation

The Israeli prison service transferred on Monday the prisoner, Muhammad Zaghir, who is on a hunger strike, from the Negev desert prison to the isolation of Ohlikdar Beer Sheba prison.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Israeli prison service transferred on Monday the prisoner, Muhammad Zaghir, who is on a hunger strike, from the Negev desert prison to the isolation of Ohlikdar Beer Sheba prison.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club stated in a press release that the 33-year-old prisoner from al-Khalil, a human rights activist and former prisoner, began his strike 20 days ago, rejecting his administrative detention.

Zaghir has been detained since last April. He is married and has three children.

The Prisoner's Club held the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) fully responsible for the life of Zaghir. It called on international human rights institutions to put an end to the IOA’s continued use of the arbitrary administrative detention policy against hundreds of Palestinian citizens.

The IOA continues to detain about 350 Palestinian administrative detainees in its prisons.
