It will be held later today on the occasion of the Islamic Unity Week with the participation of Sunni and Shia scholars and thinkers.
How to develop strong relationship between Sunni and Shia scholars is the main theme of the event, which will be organized both in-person and virtually.
A message from Iranian source of emulation Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi will open the conference.
Also addressing the event will be Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Hashim Mousawi, the head of the center, as wll as Shia scholars Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari and Seyed Muhammad Razvi and Sunni scholars Sheikh Muhammad Khalid, Sheikh Muhammad Umar and Sheikh Zishan Qaderi.
The 17th day of Rabi al-Awwal, which falls on November 3 this year, is believed by Shia Muslims to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), while Sunni Muslims regard the 12th day of the month as the birthday of the last prophet.
The interval between the two dates is celebrated every year as the Islamic Unity Week.
Late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) declared the occasion as the Islamic Unity Week back in the 1980s.
