Hamas condemns Mahmoud Abbas’s meeting with Israeli war minister

The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced Palestinian Authority (PA) president Mahmoud Abbas for holding a meeting with Israeli war minister Benny Gantz, describing his step as a stab in the back of the Palestinian intifada youth in the West Bank.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced Palestinian Authority (PA) president Mahmoud Abbas for holding a meeting with Israeli war minister Benny Gantz, describing his step as a stab in the back of the Palestinian intifada youth in the West Bank.

In a statement on Wednesday, Hamas said that Abbas met with Gantz with no regard for the ongoing settler aggression happening against his people in the West Bank, stressing the Palestinian people from all spectra condemn and reject such behavior.

It also said that such behavior from Abbas would deepens the inter-Palestinian political division, complicate the Palestinian situation, encourage other parties in the region to normalize their relations with the occupation state and weaken the Palestinian position that reject normalization.

Senior Fatah official Hussein ash-Sheikh, who also attended the meeting, affirmed that Abbas met with Gantz on Tuesday.

According to the Hebrew media, the two sides explored avenues of strengthening security cooperation, preserving security stability, and preventing attacks and violence. They also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
