Ayatollah Raisi: School a sacred place, a place for thinking

The Iran's President described the purpose of creation of human as growth and excellence and walking down the path of education, and emphasising the importance and special place of education in human life, he said, "School is a sacred place and a place for thinking."

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iran's President described the purpose of creation of human as growth and excellence and walking down the path of education, and emphasising the importance and special place of education in human life, he said, "School is a sacred place and a place for thinking."

Speaking on Saturday at the official opening ceremony of the 1400-1401 school year in the country, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi stated, "Spending on education is the largest investment and the country's progress happens through education and training”.

All institutions must help and serve education, he said adding, "No one should be deprived of education due to poverty”.

Ayatollah Raisi continued his speech by calling the school a pillar of social solidarity and said, "We all came to appreciate the school better during the COVID-19 conditions and realised how important the school is as a point of connection between the house and other layers of society".

The President added, "I must also sincerely thank all the women and mothers of the society who played the role of teachers in homes for the children of this land during the closure of schools. This experience showed what important capacities the family and mother have that should be considered and promoted in the growth of society”.

Mr Raisi continued, "The pivotal position and fundamental role of schools requires that all institutions of the country in various fields of media, economy, culture, etc. help education and all institutions are obliged to serve the school".

The President added, "Spending resources on education is not a cost but the largest and most productive investment that can guarantee the future of the country”.

Emphasising that no one should be deprived of education due to poverty, Ayatollah Raisi said, "With accurate knowledge, basic steps should be taken for the transformation of education based on the approved transformation document as an upstream document".

Dr Raisi stated that if the transformation document is not implemented, the schools and education of the country will not change, adding, "The school must be transformation-seeking and the transformation of the school depends on the work being in the hands of transformation-seeking figures”.

The President said, "The report on the manner and amount of implementation of the Education Transformation Document should be submitted regularly and it should be specified why the remaining parts of the document have not been implemented”.

Ayatollah Raisi went on to ask the question of Mehr, "What are the characteristics of a strong Iran and what is the role of students in the formation of a strong Iran?"

Dr Raisi stated, "According to the plans, we will soon reach the goal of 70% vaccination of the society, and my request to the education officials is to make efforts towards the expansion of face-to-face education with strict observance of health protocols".
