President Masoud Pezehskian has confirmed the martyrdom of his intelligence minister Esmaeil Khatib by offering his condolences to the Iranian nation on his martyrdom.
"The cowardly assassination of my colleagues [Intelligence Minister] Esmaeil Khatib, the Secreatary of Supreme Nasitonal Security Council (SNSC) Ali] Larijani and [Defense Minister] Aziz Nasirzadeh alongside their family members and their teams accompanying team brought grief and sorrow to us," Pezeshkian wrote in a post on his X account on Wednesday.
"I would like to offer my condolences on the martyrdom of two members of my cabinet and the SNSC secretary and the military generals and Basij commanders to the great Iranian nation. For usre, their path will be followed firmer than before," Pezeshkian added.
