16 Palestinians arrested by Israeli police in Negev

The Israeli police on Tuesday arrested 16 Palestinian citizens, including three women, from al-Attrash village in the Negev desert.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Israeli police on Tuesday arrested 16 Palestinian citizens, including three women, from al-Attrash village in the Negev desert.

According to local sources, the Israeli police launched a large-scale arrest campaign in the eastern areas of the Negev, mainly in al-Attrash village.

Police forces also fired rubber bullets and stun grenades at the local residents after they protested the bulldozing of their lands as a prelude to turning them into shrubland.

Earlier in the morning, the police destroyed the sit-in tent that was set up by al-Attrash residents and prevented them from reaching their seized lands.

Al-Attrash is one of several Bedouin villages in the Negev desert, which are "unrecognized" by Israel.
