Senior Pakistani Shia leader 'Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi' passes away

Senior Pakistani Shia Leader, head of Sipah e Muhammad Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi has passed away in Iran during his visit to holy shrine of Imam Ridha in holy city of Mashhad, on Monday morning on March 7, 2016.

AhlulBayt News Agency - Senior Pakistani Shia Leader, head of Sipah e Muhammad Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi has passed away in Iran during his visit to holy shrine of Imam Ridha in holy city of Mashhad, on Monday morning on March 7, 2016.

According to information, Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi was also ill. He was on religious tour to Iran for visiting Imam Raza’s (A.S) Holy Shrine.

Allama Naqvi had planned to stay there in Iran where he passed away.

Alama Ghulam Raza Naqvi had also spent 18 years in jail on allegations of killing leaders of opponent organizations however, no allegation was proved and he could not be sentenced due to unavailability of proofs.

In an interview after his release he said “our religion teaches us peace and brotherhood but when a banned organization had started killing Shia Muslims with proper planning and started attacking our mourning then we had to form Sipah-e-Muhammad in defend ourselves”.
