Top Dutch ISIS leader killed by Iraqi Army in eastern Mosul

A top Dutch ISIS leader running two important posts was gunned down in the liberated neighborhood of Muhamdiseen in eastern Mosul, a Kurdish official confirmed.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A top Dutch ISIS leader running two important posts was gunned down in the liberated neighborhood of Muhamdiseen in eastern Mosul, a Kurdish official confirmed.  

“On Friday, Taes Bill Monti known as Abu Omer Hollandi, head of ISIS Inghimasi force, meaning the fighters who fight until death, was killed in clashes with the Iraqi army," Saeed Mamuzini, a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official for Mosul affairs, told Rudaw.  

Hollandi, 41, was head of the foreign militants within ISIS, Mamuzini explained on Friday, noting he was a close associate with Abu Bakir al-Baghdadi, the group's leader.

According to Mamuzini, an estimated 100 to 130 Dutch militants are believed to be fighting for ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Over the past three months, three other prominent ISIS leaders were killed including Abu Mohammed Adnani from Syria, Abu Bakir Hakim Tunsi from Tunisia and Zeyad Kharufa, he detailed.

A battle to evict ISIS from Mosul is in its 89th day with the Iraqi army, supported by Kurdish Peshmerga forces and Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi popular forces, have made giant advances. On Friday, the army made significant advances in the eastern part of the city with the army officials saying the entire left side will be cleared of ISIS militants in the coming days.
