Verdun blast targets Lebanon first, Hezbollah second - says Parliament speaker

Berri Says The sinful hands that rattled the Lebanese yesterday evening target the nation first and Hezbollah second, a statement issued by Speaker of the House Nabih Berri's press office said on Monday.

AhlulBayt News Agency - The sinful hands that rattled the Lebanese yesterday evening target the nation first and Hezbollah second, a statement issued by Speaker of the House Nabih Berri's press office said on Monday.

Berri's statement sounded the alarm on the true motives behind the blast that targeted BLOM bank headquarters in Verdun yesterday evening.

"All should beware of the true dimensions behind targeting the heart of the Lebanese capital by means of attacking its unique banking sector that has and still endures wars, as well as Israeli invasions and attempts to catch up with our expertise and free economic system," Berri's statement said.

"I urge all sides to adopt unified stances and rhetoric, and to avoid being influenced by the suspicious conspiracies that target Lebanon's future and unique formula," Berri's statement concluded.

A bomb exploded Sunday evening outside a branch of the BLOM Bank in Beirut's Verdun area injuring two people.
