the ISIS militants have executed over a dozen civilians in their northern stronghold of Mosul, accusing them of cooperation with the Iraqi army.

Member of the Iraqi Parliament Abdulrahim Shamari revealed on Sunday that IS fighters sentenced 15 residents of Mosul to death for allegedly spying for the Iraqi security forces.

MP Shamari urged the Iraqi government to step up the operation to liberate Mosul in order to protect the civilians against the non-stop brutalities of IS.

Since the fall of Mosul in June 2014, IS has executed hundreds, if not thousands, of Mosul resident to spread fear and push the civilians to obey.

Seemingly, most of the victims face charges related to cooperations with the Iraqi army, Kurdish Peshmerga or the international coalition forces.
