Damascus gas pipeline reconstruction begins, ISIS nears expulsion from Qalamoun Mountains

Over the past 6 months, Damascus residents have repeatedly had their power cut to due faulty energy infrastructure. Unknown to many, the people of Damascus experience regular power outages; more often than not, on a daily basis.

AhlulBayt News Agency - Earlier yesterday, the Syrian Arab Army’s 2nd Division finally recaptured the Damascus pibelines after ongoing skirmishes with ISIS forces in the Qalamoun Mountains; this area is located on the eastern perimeter of the Lebanese border while the pipelines flow from the oil rich deserts of Homs to the capital of Syria itself.

During the afternoon, the Syrian Government called upon repairmen who set up workshops to fix the broken pipelines. In some areas, ISIS fighters have literally blown up pieces of pipeline infrastructure while other sections of the pipelines have simply witnessed large-scale war destruction caused artillery, gunfights and airstrikes.

Over the past 6 months, Damascus residents have repeatedly had their power cut to due faulty energy infrastructure. Unknown to many, the people of Damascus experience regular power outages; more often than not, on a daily basis.

However, with the pipelines scheduled for complete reconstruction in 6 months time, the Syrian capital will now be able to enjoy a steady flow of electricity. Also, this will allow for hundreds of Syrians, mostly from the countryside of Homs and Damascus, to be employed as repairmen.

Pictures have since emerged from the repair work:
