(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi discussed on Saturday with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili bilateral cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and means of expanding them in their common interest in the fields of economy, trade, oil, gas, health and electrical power.
Al-Halqi and Jalili reviewed the outcomes of the Syrian official delegation's recent visit to Iran, stressing the importance of following up on the agreements reached during the visit and the necessity that they are put into effect, as well as speeding up their implementation, namely those related to diesel, flour and agricultural products.
The Premier said that the Israeli terrorist attack on a scientific research center in Jamraya targets Syria's steadfastness and the axis of resistance in the region, hailing Iran's efforts in backing Syria in the face of difficulties and challenges.
The Premier also highlighted the Syrian government's efforts to implement the political program for solving the crisis in Syria and the consultative meetings with the political and social forces ahead of holding the national dialogue conference.
Jalili lauded the political program for solving the crisis and its reaching out to national opposition which is willing to engage in a political process, expressing Iran's support for it.
He also condemned the Israeli attack on Syria, describing it as a foolish act that reveals the true nature of the Zionist entity and the threats it poses to the region's security and stability.
Jalili expressed trust that the conspiracy on Syria will end in failure.
Haidar, Jalili Discuss National Dialogue, Political Program for Solving Crisis
For his part, Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs, Dr. Ali Haidar discussed with Jalili the future of national dialogue and the political program for solving the crisis in Syria.
The role of the ministry in fostering amity, peace and tolerance in the Syrian society for overcoming the crisis and restoring security and stability were also discussed during the meeting.
Minister Haidar said that the Ministry has comprehensive plans for enhancing the spirit of reconciliation and dialogue in the Syrian society and eliminating the negative aftermath of the crisis through realizing national reconciliation, rebuilding Syria and consolidating its pivotal role in the region.
Jalili: The Enemies' Revenge on the Syrian People Desperate Attempt to Hit Resistance
Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, said that the desperate attempts by Syria's enemies to make reprisals on the Syrian people through hitting infrastructure and keeping the economic embargo are part of targeting steadfastness and resistance.
Upon arrival at Damascus International Airport on Saturday, Jalili said ''The enemies claim to be defending and backing the Syrian people as they persist in all kinds of conspiracies against them.''
He added that his visit to Damascus comes in the framework of the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and offering all kinds of help to ease the suffering of the Syrian people who are the target of the enemies' conspiracies.
"My visit to Syria comes in the framework of the strong relations between the two countries,'' Jalili said, adding ''I hope my visit will bear fruit regarding national dialogue and delivering aid needed for rebuilding Syria for consolidating its steadfastness in the face of the enemies' conspiracies."
Jalili stressed that the Muslim world won't allow an attack on Syria to happen, adding that it will neither allow the fierce campaigns on a part of the Muslim world to continue.
Al-Halqi, Saeed Lou Discuss Cooperation between Syrian, Iran
Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi discussed with Assistant of the Iranian President for International Affairs, Ali Saeed Lou bilateral cooperation between Syria and Iran and means of enhancing it in the economic, trade, development and services fields.
In a phone call on Saturday, Al-Halqi and Saeed Lou emphasized following up on the Premier's visit to Iran and implementing what has been agreed upon during the visit, as well as speeding up its implementation and tackling whatever obstacles that may hinder it.
