(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Palestinians in the Netherlands and solidarity activists staged, on Tuesday, a sit-in outside the Parliament in The Hague, to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba and to show solidarity for the prisoners in Israeli jails, who have finally achieved their demands after a hunger strike that lasted twenty-eight days.

Sofyan Bedir the member in the Palestinian house in the Netherlands, an assembly of Palestinian activists from all affiliations, said that a protest tent will be pitched in front of the headquarters of the Dutch parliament in the Hague to commemorate the sixty-fourth anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, during which IOF had displaced Palestinians from their lands and committed massacres against them.

Bedir pointed out that during the event, activities will be held to draw the attention of the Parliament and the Dutch society to the suffering of Palestinian people, particularly prisoners, under the occupation.

In addition, the protest tent will be displaying models of the solitary confinement in occupation prisons as well as reports, pictures and documentary films about the Nakba and the apartheid wall, in cooperation with the Dutch friendship society, stop the occupation organization, and the council of Moroccans in the Netherlands.

It is noted that the Palestinian house assembly announced that, in cooperation with the Dutch Friendship society, the Palestinian community Association and the Palestinian Return Association, it will organize a conference to commemorate the anniversary of the Nakba and to highlight the Palestinian prisoners' issue, on the nineteenth of May, with the participation Dries van Agt former PM of the Netherlands.

The former Dutch prime minister Dries Van Agt had called on the European countries to abide by their obligations towards the Palestinian people and their just cause, confirming that "there is no Palestinian-Israeli conflict, yet the problem lies in Israel", and he stressed that the solution is to force Israel to comply with the international laws and to implement the resolutions of the United Nations."
