AhlulBayt News Agency - The Iranian Cultural Center in Senegal plans to publish a translation of Nahjul Balaqa of Imam Ali (AS) into the Wolof language.
According to Dakar Icro website, this was announced by Sheikhana Louh, Quranic adviser to the Caliph of Muridiyya Sufi Order and translator of the entire Quran into Wolof, who had a meeting with Seyyed Hassan Esmati, the Iranian cultural attaché in Senegal earlier this month.
He presented a part of the translation to the Iranian official and said that it is an honor for him to translate the valuable collection of Imam Ali’s (AS) sayings in full.
The translator also quoted a Hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) about the Imam (AS) which says "I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate.”
Sheikhana Louh is the honorary guest of the 33rd international Quran competition in Tehran which has been underway since May 11.
Libya has published the Quran translation of the scholar into Wolof and the copies are available at different mosques in Senegal.
Wolof is a member of the Senegambian branch of the Niger-Congo language family with about 7 million speakers in Senegal, France, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali and Mauritania.
