(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Another Kurdish Yezidi child has been rescued from the grip of the ISIS militants with the help of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
Vian Dakhil, the sole Yezidi member of the Iraqi parliament, confirmed the report in a tweet on her official account, saying that the rescued is a nine years old girl.
The KRG’s special office for Yezidi Abductees' Affairs played a role in rescuing the girl after her father intended to sell his kidney on the black market to buy his daughter back.
Following the collapse of the Iraqi army and the fall of Mosul into the hands of ISIS, the extremists overrun the Yezidi town of Sinjar and killed over 1,000 civilians while they kidnapped more than 6,000 Yezidis, mainly women and children.
The KRG is working through its special offices to rescue the abductees and provide them with medical attention after their release.
