US military convoy allegedly targeted by ISIS in eastern Syria

The self-declared Islamic State (ISIS/Daesh) terror organization allegedly targeted a U.S. military convoy in eastern Syria on Wednesday.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The self-declared Islamic State (ISIS/Daesh) terror organization allegedly targeted a U.S. military convoy in eastern Syria on Wednesday.

According to a report from Liveuamap and pro-opposition activists, the U.S. military convoy was traveling through northern Deir Ezzor, when a couple roadside bombs went off near a cemetery in the town of Al-Namiliyah.

The pro-opposition activists alleged one military vehicle was damaged and a couple soldiers were wounded as a result of the blasts.

Liveuamap said that ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack and killed two U.S. soldiers.

A series of clashes would breakout after the explosions and lasted less than 30 minutes before the ISIS terrorists fled the area.

The U.S. military has not issued a statement to corroborate these claims.

The ISIS terror group is not far from this area and they have been known to plant roadside bombs in several parts of the country (e.g. Idlib).
