Israeli forces kill 15-year-old Palestinian, injure dozens in Gaza

A 15-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed, while dozens of others were injured, on Wednesday evening, after Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinian protesters near the Erez crossing (Beit Hanoun) between Israel and the northern besieged Gaza Strip.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A 15-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed, while dozens of others were injured, on Wednesday evening, after Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinian protesters near the Erez crossing (Beit Hanoun) between Israel and the northern besieged Gaza Strip.

A Ma'an reporter said that 15-year-old Ahmad Samir Abu Habel was shot in the head by Israeli forces as he participated in protests near the Erez crossing in northern Gaza.

Medical sources confirmed that 24 Palestinians were shot and injured by Israeli forces, while several others suffered from tear-gas inhalation as Israeli forces showered protesters with live ammunition and tear-gas bombs to disperse them.

Israeli forces targeted and fired a tear-gas bomb at an ambulance passing by the Erez crossing; no injuries were reported.

Thousands of Palestinians arrived to the Erez crossing to participate in protests, known as "The Great March of Return," which set off under the slogan "Together to protect the rights of refugees and to break the siege."

"The Great March of Return" protests were launched by thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza -- which has suffered from a decade-long Israeli siege -- who took to the borders to demand their right of return as refugees to their original homelands, now in present-day Israel.
