Israeli drone crashes down near Gaza

An Israeli army drone crashed overnight the northern Gaza Strip, Israeli Hebrew-language news outlets reported on Tuesday.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): An Israeli army drone crashed overnight the northern Gaza Strip, Israeli Hebrew-language news outlets reported on Tuesday.

Hebrew-language sites reported that the Israeli army said that the "Skylark" drone is believed to have fallen in the Israeli side of the security fence.

The Israeli army is conducting widespread searched in the area for the drone.

According to the Times of Israel news site, the "the (Israeli) army said, as it commonly has after similar past incidents, that there is no risk of sensitive information on the drone being compromised, since footage captured by it is transmitted but not stored on it."

The site reported that since January 2017, at least 8 "Skylark" drones have crashed, including this last one.
