Highest minaret launched in Holy Quds / Pics

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Palestinians launched the highest minaret in the holy city of Quds on Friday.

The minaret, rising 73 meters high, is in al-Isawiya neighborhood of the holy city.

It was built through contributions by Arabs residing in the areas occupied by the Zionist regime in 1948.

Sheikh Ekrima Said Sabri, the imam of al-Aqsa Mosque, was present at the ceremony held to launch the minaret.

A minaret is a slender tower, typically part of a mosque, with a balcony from which a muezzin calls Muslims to prayer.
