Egypt, UAE benefit the most from Persian Gulf crisis: Erdogan

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Turkish President said Turkey will fully support Doha, and any sanctions and penalties against Qatar will face Turkey's strong reaction.

According to the al-Jazeera correspondent Breaking News, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reviewed the friendly relations with Qatar and ways to strengthen it in a phone call with Emir of the State of Qatar. He discussed some regional and international cases, especially the Persian Gulf crisis and thanked the efforts made to resolve the crisis.

During the phone call, Erdogan said about a quartet meeting in Manama, capital of Bahrain: “indeed, it is necessary to reduce the severity of the Qatar crisis. Ending the crisis is only possible through talks and negotiation.”

He stressed that Turkey will fully support Doha and any sanctions and penalties against Qatar will face Turkey’s strong reaction.

According to the correspondent, Erdogan noted during the call that the President of Egypt and the emir of the UAE are the biggest beneficiaries of the conflict between the brotherly countries. He added: “The king of Saudi Arabia, as the leader of the Persian Gulf States, continues to spend his holidays in the Maghreb despite the ongoing crisis. The president of Egypt and UAE emir think that they are Arab leaders. So they are showing off everywhere and fomenting the crisis.
