AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): “Astan Quds Razavi has provided special services to facilitate the pilgrimage of vision-impaired pilgrims, as well as offering them the cultural and social services” Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi said.
The Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, this morning, at the International Day of the White Cane, which was held at the Quds Hall of the Central Library of Razavi Holy Shrine stated, “Those vision-impaired dears, lack the vision just superficially; many of them are considered the educated figures of the community and they have reached the high positions in the field of knowledge and science, and some are also active in the field of the Qur’an and studying Qur’anic concepts.”
“Some mujahid and defender figures, who stood against enemies in defense of religion and country lost their sights and became veterans; however, they are truly the role models of our society, who gained the true sight” he pointed out.
“The families of the vision-impaired dears, who guide their hands and facilitate their lives and also try to resolve their problems, are worthy of honor” Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi also appreciated the families of the vision-impaired individuals.
“Although on the White Cane Day, we appreciate and commend the positions of jihad, sacrifice and forgiving nature of the veterans and pay attention to those who have lost their sight for some reason, these appreciations should not be summed up in ceremonial actions and there must be real strides in action for their well-being,” Member of the Expediency Council emphasized.
“The vision-impaired class should receive the essential heedfulness in terms of legal, economic, financial, employment and work services and different officials should pay special attention to this class,” he stressed.
“All the departments in the country are obliged to facilitate the life of the vision-impaired individuals, and the fitting of urban space is very important for the veterans and the vision-impaired of the society” Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi reiterated.
He emphasized the provision of “special hosting” services by Astan Quds Razavi for veterans and disabled persons, adding, “The fitting of services and pilgrimages places for the vision-impaired has been on the agenda of the Astan Quds Razavi and steps have been taken and works done in this regard in order to facilitate the mobility of the dear veterans, elderly, and vision-impaired individuals and other people who have somehow physical limitations and disabilities for entering the Razavi Holy Shrine.”
“We also have special times for the disabled and physically-challenged pilgrims, so that they can have a nice pilgrimage alongside the Holy Shrine and the illuminated mausoleum” the Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi added.
“The location that Astan Quds Razavi has offered the vision-impaired individuals for cultural and social services should be launched by faster pursuit,” he also emphasized.
“Providing vehicles and facilitating pilgrimage are of the measures that have been taken so far by Astan Quds Razavi; however, it should not be left alone at this scale. We should ask the vision-impaired about their problems to attend the Razavi Holy Shrine, and try to resolve these problems” Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi remarked.
